Viktor Todorov created two similar sculptures of girls (young women, maidens), at different times and in different places.

While working in Krichim as a consultant to the Municipality, Viktor created a sculpture of a girl for the central park space, which was cast in bronze, in the late 1970s. The technology of bronze casting allows, under certain conditions and if the mold is successfully stored, to re-cast the product. This happened and the second figure, a “twin”, is placed in Plovdiv, in the small garden at the intersection of “Ruski” Blvd. and “Shesti Septemvri” Blvd., naturally after the approval of the relevant institutions.
The lack of commitment in these sculptures allows Viktor to portray through plastic a specific radiance in the female figure, both chastity and maturity. The face hides the barely perceptible smile in the “Mona Lisa” style. The hand placed behind the back urges the figure to take a forward position, to lean out. The girl’s entire state exudes a moment of anticipation and readiness. Dynamics are minimized. The highly elongated proportions create an instant sense of grandeur.

The two sculptures, despite being identical, are inscribed differently in their adjacent spaces, and this makes them an ideal example of a well-executed synthesis in an urban and park environment.
